Welcome


In short, this website is a hodgepodge of elements thrown together by Yours Truly for the sole purpose of amusing myself and, perhaps occasionally, others. Most likely you'll just find it boring though. After all, who really wants to sift through photos and videos, read the projects I've constructed for school and/or on the side, or, worst of all, take a look into the inner-workings of my mind on my blog (My Musings)?

I am Alex Laird, a student set to graduate from Cedarville University in 2011 with a major in Computer Science, though I try to socialize in such a way that people wouldn’t realize it, and a minor in Biblical Studies. In case tales of our high esteem and valor have not already graced your ears, Cedarville University is a Christian Liberal Arts college in Ohio hailing roughly 3,500 students (and growing happily).

I have one exceptionally crazy oldest sister (Jenna), one brother (Andrew), and one other sister (Ashley), all older than I. All my siblings are married and have dispersed themselves throughout the country. Our family seems noticeably different from every other family because my siblings, parents, and I actually get along. Not only that, but we actually like each other! As much as I would never admit it in person, or to one of their faces, I'm actually very close to everyone in my family, and I love them all very much.

Being born and raised into a Christian family, I have since made God (not religion!) the center of my life; My Faith is something I'm very passionate about, which is most likely one reason I've decided to attend a Christian University and to get a minor in Biblical Studies. My Faith in Christ is the most important thing in my life.

As far as personal interests and random facts go, I'm very interested my relationships with friends and family, programming and web design, table tennis, Rubik's cubes, basically anything Apple makes, creative writing, photography and videography, and Worms World Party. If you’re interested, I compiled a list of sixteen random facts about myself; it can be found here. I've never officially been able to decide on a favorite band, but I'll usually listen to any music from any genre. More specifically, I love bands that put effort into writing meaningful lyrical content, especially that I can relate to personally. As far as movies go, my favorites are Gladiator, V for Vendetta, Blood Diamond, Identity, and The Simpsons Movie. On that note, my favorite TV show is The Simpsons, and I'm in the process of collecting all the Seasons on DVD. I also love Lost!

In addition, I love witty sarcasm and all things humorous. Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld are always favorites as far as comedians go, and I'm currently digging Brian Regan and Demetri Martin. And let us not forget the ingenious duo that is Flight of the Conchords.

Oh, and I love anything and everything relating to fire, explosives, and just danger in general, all of which can be evidenced by a few of my videos.
