Useful Applications
Here are some applications I've found useful throughout my days; applications for Linux, Mac, or Windows! (ALL of which are free, because free truly is the most useful kind of software!)
Mojo
Browse friend’s shared libraries on iTunes over a local network or the internet. You’ll need a Mojo account, and so will they, but it works quite well. (The Windows version is extremely buggy, but the Mac version works almost seamlessly.)Mac Download

MacTheRipper
Rip and decrypt entire DVDs, including the menu and all special features, off of a DVD. The files are usually in .VOB format at this point, which can be read by VLC Media Player.Mac Download

NetBeans
Probably the most complete and powerful Java IDEs available. Of course, it’s designed by Sun Microsystems, so what do you expect? It’s a bit slow at times, but it gets the job done, and it has a great GUI builder.Also, see Eclipse.

Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (NSIS)
Not quite as friendly as Inno Setup, but probably more powerful, especially with customizing your installers GUI, NSIS allows you to build installer programs for users that you can distribute with applications you write.Also, see Inno Setup.

QuickTime Player
Plays most standard video formats. If you’re looking for a video player that will allow you to stretch the limits, I’d suggest VLC Media Player, but QuickTime Player is guaranteed to be safe.Also, see VLC Media Player.
